Jane Austen Flip Book, for Lady Alyssa

Jane Austen Flip Book?  Why Yes!

I wanted to try making a few flip books on the Austen Theme,  Lady Alyssa spoiled me with her crocheted  letter pouch and I wanted to reciprocate with something special.

Here the flip book is opened. This is a piece of pink card stock paper that is cut and then folded into thirds.  I made it the dimensions of my journal cards that serve as the "pages".  They are taped into place using strips of washi tape.  I also have a Jane Austen Quote tag card taped in.

Hi, dear friend!  This, as you see is a journal card.

The goodies...  The page that has the polkadot bag with the feather, is also on a journal card.

This is the "Tea Time" page...

And the letter.

I used one of these cello bags to hold the letter, it worked out nicely.  So that is the flip book with a few Jane Austen touches.  I enjoyed putting it together so much that I plan on making a few more!
If you make some, send me a picture, and I will happily post it here to share with others!

Jane Austen Letter Writing Society Pen Friend Meet Up!

Do You Love A Good Tea Room?

We were DETERMINED to find a tea room that would take a last minute reservation.  The local tea room in my community was booked.  The prospects were bleak...but a quick call to The Eclectic Cottage Tea Room, netted results.  And that is just what two members of the Jane Austen Letter Writing Society needed at this Pen Friend meet up!

Each table had a different decor.  If we sat at this table, perhaps we would have typed up a letter or two while waiting for the high tea.

Perhaps this table is reserved for the "Red Hat Society" tea .

Oh, bring it on.  I love fru fru....the more the better.  I also just love pink.

The tea fare was rather nice.   We had a nice chat as we enjoyed the delicacies.

We had an on looker....Audrey thought it was breakfast time....

It was a delightful pen friend meet up.  Sheryl is from Massachusetts,  and I live in central Virginia, so this does not happen often.  But if the distance didn't exist then perhaps we would have never been  pen friends all these years.  What about you?  Have you ever had a pen friend meet up?

Lack of Beautiful Stationery?

What's A Girl To Do?

I think I have shown you before my lovely Carol Wilson Stationery.  I inherited this from a friend and unfortunately I am down to my last few sheets of this gorgeous stationery.

Boo!  What's a girl to do?

I decided to try my hand at making some pretty stationery, and this is what I came up with.

I am the world's WORST rubber stamper.  Ugh.

I believe that is why  black sharpies were invented, right?  Have you made any stationery lately?  I am a bit shy on ideas, so please email me at JALWSociety@gmail.com  and share your ideas!  I would love to post  what you have created!

March Musings of a Jane Austen Fan...

March Musings

The month of March was a strange one for central VA.  We had this little bit of snow, which I snapped from my front parlor window, then we had temperatures as high as 85 degrees!  The snow made me long to sit at my desk and pen some letters and try to create some lovely mail.

This lovely card came from Lady Carolyn who is a member of our Letter Writing Society and has been making all sorts of beautiful mail!  I received this lovely "thank you " card from her.

She used some of the supplies  from my Jane Austen Letter Writing Kit.  (Smile)  I have several items for sale in my Etsy store which will help you send beautiful Austen themed mail!

Here I have assembled some items that just beg me to create something beautiful to mail out.  If you have sent or received any lovely letters and you want to share them here, please take a picture of the letter and  forward it to me at :  JALWSociety@gmail.com and I will gladly post it!

We are now in April and  surprisingly we have SNOW again  in our forecast!  Good.  It will draw me back to my desk!

We Have A Winner!

We Have A Winner...

Your chances for winning this gorgeous necklace was really great...only 9 comments were left, so let's get right to WHO our winner is!

According to my Random Number generator, the winner is (drum roll please....)  Lady Anne Milnes Howard!  Lady Anne, please send me your snail mail address to my email:  JALWSociety@gmail.com!  I will get your lovely "Jane Fan"  necklace off to you on Monday.  A BIG thank you to all who participated!

Lady Anne's comment was a lovely one: " A very good morning to you Lady Pamela, as I sit here by my window with the sun shining through my thoughts go to Miss Austen and how she would have sat writing. I feel that my interest in Jane is down to the way I can picture her sitting writing whether it is at her desk, table or outside sitting under a tree. It is only through her wonderful writing that has allowed my imagination to blossom. Thank you for sharing so much with us.
With kind regards
Lady Anne"

Lady Anne, enjoy your beautiful new necklace!

Jane Austen Letter Writing Society First GIVE AWAY!!!!

It's Time For A Give AWAY!

Hello dear lovers of all things Jane Austen!  It has been quite a while since this blog has been up and running...and yet without a give away.  So let me amend this problem, post haste!

Of course , I consulted with Jane herself.  She approved of my selection.

I'm sure if you are a pursuer of Etsy  for Jane Austen  accessories , you have encountered "The Scottish Rebel "  Miss Esther does astonishing work with literary themes.  Of course I have favorited all of her Jane Austen necklaces.  They are gorgeous. I have selected one of her necklaces , "Jane Fan" to offer as my first give away.

I had no idea of the amazing quality until I received the necklace.  The chain is thick and sturdy.  The charms are beautiful...this one features an open book with a crystal.  The actual square picture has a raised glass edge, to give it a dimensional feel.  I just know that you will love this!  How can you win this gorgeous necklace?  It is simple:  1.) follow me, and  2.)leave a comment of why you enjoy Jane Austen.

This give away will end Next Friday:  April 1st...this is NO joke!  Have FUN everyone!

Regards,

Lady Pamela

Tea With Jane...And A New Book...

Tea Time With Jane Austen

Today I had tea with  Jane... literally!  How did she know that I had out my beautiful pink Adderly Lawley England tea cup and saucer?  She matched perfectly!

She looked at the fare and approved.

I had a "new" book at my side while sipping on my tea by the title, Jane by Jean Gould.  I've had this one my shelf for quite some time and just have never taken the time to read it.  It is a juvenile biography of Miss Jane Austen, from her childhood on.  When reading the book, it is quickly quite evident that the author had done her research!

And my!  I happen to own a "first edition"!

The illustrations are lovely.

Have you read any good Jane Austen books lately?  My tea time was lovely, I hope yours was as  well.  Now off to write a letter.

Clinking my tea cup to you,

Lady Pamela
