High Tea at the Jefferson...

Always a pleasure!

Richmond, Virginia is home to one of the finest 5 star hotels in the country.  Particularly if you an avid Tea fan. Tea at the Jefferson is a tradition for many families, and it is quickly becoming one for our family.  This summer we celebrated 3 birthdays, so we had ample excuse to make a trip to the Jefferson for tea!

The elegance and beauty  abound...every nook and cranny you can find something in which to stare.

The Grand Stair Case was once a place you could actually get married.  They discontinued the stair case weddings in the 1970's I believe.

The stained glass in the ceiling is breathtaking!

Here is our reserved table, waiting for us- all lovely with crisp white linens and delicate table ware.

My youngest daughter took this picture...she has an eye for beauty too.

The food is scrumptious.  This is the tiered dessert stand.

The sandwiches were hearty but dainty at the same time.

This is my plate, that I  started with....the tea flowed, and flowed.  We had two house blends, both were delicious.

Memories were made  and we all agreed that it is never too soon to get together  over tea and dainties.  Do you have a special tradition that involves tea?  Let me hear from you!

Drink Tea,
Drink some more!

  1. What a lovely tradition. The architecture is stunning! Would that be called "afternoon tea"? My only tea tradition is to have plenty of it first thing in the morning. :)

    1. Haha! Me too (the morning routine!) Yes, this is High Tea at the Jefferson, or "afternoon tea". Pricey but nice and a treat that if one saves her "egg money" (as my grandmother's little spending account was called), then , one could afford it.
